For block laying, mortar and plaster, a 32.5 class is the usual choice. It is workable, finishes well and is not over-specified for the job.
For block and paver production, 32.5R speeds up demoulding so moulds and yard space turn over faster.
For foundations, ground slabs and general structural work, 42.5 is the common specification, and what most engineers expect to see on a structural Bill of Quantities.
For precast, prestressed elements, water-retaining structures and fast-track pours, go to 42.5R or follow the design mix your engineer specifies.
This guide is general. Where a structural engineer has specified a class or mix, follow the specification. When you request a quote, tell us the job and we will confirm the right product before we price it.
